In the Val di Lima and Garfagnana area, the middle and upper valley of the Serchio river, there are various adventure parks, beautiful paths for walking and trekking, mountain biking or horseback riding.

You can also practice bird watching or more or less demanding sports, such as alpine skiing and cross-country skiing in the nearby winter sports resorts. Or else you can go mountaineering or approach caving, freeclimbing and river canoeing in torrential waters.

The quieter people can make easy excursions in the various hamlets of the Municipality of Bagni di Lucca, visit the villas of the place and walk in the footsteps of the English romantic poets of the nineteenth century.

Or by going up the Serchio Valley, you can have beautiful experiences, visiting the beautiful karst caves, the Orecchiella nature reserve with the Botanical Garden.

Last but not least for reasons of space, the various mountain lakes, then Barga one of the “100 most beautiful historic villages in Italy“. Then Castelnuovo di Garfagnana and Castiglione, both towns with very ancient and beautiful medieval walls. Then again a real myriad of suggestive villages, ancient churches, sanctuaries and suggestive hermitages.

As for Bagni di Lucca, the owners of public establishments and commercial activities organize classic parties in the  center of the town, with music, entertainment and tasty food accompanied by good wine!
